Charles Fawcett Website     E-Mail

Charles, a keen artist from an early age, lived aboard a Sailing Barge on the River Thames as a child. He went to sea as a cadet at the age of 16 in the British Merchant Marine, and came ashore in New Zealand at 24, having obtained an unlimited Master's license. As he worked his way up the management ladder in the shipping industry, he continued painting in his spare time. In 1984 he was transferred with his family to New York, then later San Francisco before settling in Seattle in 1999. He retired from managing a major shipping line in 2005.
In the mid 90's he began painting seriously, switching from watercolors to oils a few years ago. He is currently a student of the well known marine artist Austin Dwyer.
He is also a keen yachtsman, having raced and cruised boats of all sizes in most of the world's oceans.
Not unnaturally his knowledge and affection for the sea is reflected in his art.

Keven Furiya Website  E-mail

Keven Furiya's body of work includes landscapes, cityscapes, interiors and portraiture. Keven's paintings are done on-site in a loose, painterly manner.  He dubs his style "painterly realism," and loves to paint scenes that he is both challenged by and attracted to because they are, simply, an "image to be painted."  A majority of his works typically finished in one sitting to capture the spontaneity and essence of the subject matter. Keven studied under William Elston and served as studio assistant for approximately four years

Frank Gaffney Website  E-mail

I have been interested in art all my life and there was always encouragement from my family and art teachers when growing up in Northern Idaho. After high school, I came to Seattle to study Advertising and Design at Cornish School of Allied Arts. I also took courses at the University of Washington in Portrait Sculpture and Graphic Design, studied portraiture with Leslie B. DeMille at the Scottsdale Artist’s School and studied painting under William F. Reese. I find inspiration from many artists, old masters and contemporaries alike. My favorites are always changing as I grow and change as an artist. While working in the graphic arts field as a designer and illustrator, I have done numerous portraits and other fine art commissions. I am a member and a past president of The Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters, a Signature Member of The American Society of Marine Artists, a member of the Oil Painters of America and of the Coast Guard Art Program.

Mike is a native of the Pacific Northwest.  He was born at Ft. Lewis, Washington in 1945 and, while growing up in a military family as well as during his own military service, has always called the Puget Sound area home.

Mike’s professional training is as an engineer. He graduated from the United States Military Academy at West Point, New York and the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. His skills as an artist are self acquired. Throughout his career art and painting have been a constant background and source of satisfaction. It was not until his assignment to the Panama Canal in 1974, however, that maritime art became a major interest.

In 1979 Mike and his family left the military and returned to Washington.  Since that time he has drawn extensively on the maritime and outdoor material of the region as material for his art. He works primarily in watercolor and graphite.

Mike’s work is in private collections throughout the country and abroad. Several of his paintings have been used as gifts for departing members of the US Coast Guard Academy staff.  His work has been selected as part of the Coast Guard Art Collection and one of his paintings hangs aboard the USCG Barque “Eagle”. He has been among both the top 100 and top 200 finalists in the National Park Service Arts for the Parks competition. In addition he has shown work in the Coos Bay Maritime Art Exhibit and has had several of his paintings selected for the Foss Maritime calendar.

He is a signature member of the Eastern Washington Watercolor Society, a member of the American Society of Marine Artists, the Coast Guard Artist Program and the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters.  He is represented by the Haystack Gallery in Cannon Beach, Oregon, the Kirsten Gallery in Seattle, the Harbor Gallery in Gig Harbor, Washington and the Potlatch Gallery in Poulsbo, Washington.

Gary Gumble   E-mail

Gary’s art is centered around two different but complementary subjects — people and places.
There are few subjects, he feels, more expressive than the human form. The sensuous curve of hip into thigh, the evocative look of an upturned eye, an exquisite hand languorously placed or the dramatic contours of a well-worn face. For centuries they have all provided inspiration for masterful works of art. Nature too is a source of inspiration, but for Gary it is also a setting for meditation. Whether it is the soft whisper of wind through the gently swaying trees or the crashing surf that shouts its mantra, the result is the same. His cares become minor, his well of worries is emptied and his soul is refreshed. It is Gary’s hope that the viewer will experience at least some of the pleasure the artist felt as he first viewed nature’s originals of his paintings

David Jayne Website   E-Mail

Painting is a process of capturing what one sees and absorbs. Being a painter, I abstract what I perceive. When I do so, I'm concerned with the little things, the not-so-obvious things—the subliminal elements of life.

I like the surprise, the "why not", and the completely outrageous in art.

Good painting, like good music, sculpture, theater or poetry, captures the essence of a certain aspect of life and brings it to the forefront.
