The Senior Art Show will be at the Tacoma Art Museum, upstairs November 16 through December 4, 2011. free day is thursday November17. Harold’s oil painting of the “Charleston Boat Basin” won First Place and his painting “My Friends on the Docks” won the Peoples Choice Award.

Harry had his painting “Blue Boat” was juried into the American Society of Marine Artists’ 15th National Exhibition. Over 450 works were evaluated by a jury of 20 ASMA Fellows. This exhibition will be hosted by Eight Museums from October 2011 through July 2013.



Ray Gerring
Ray Gerring has provided six of his paintings to the “Blind Veterans Association,” headquartered in Washington D.C. The paintings will be reproduced as greeting card art for sale as part of the BVA’s annual fund raising endeavor. The paintings will be featured as work created by a blinded WWII vetran. The BVA is an organization devoted to helping blinded military veterans from al U.S. wars.


Frank Gaffney

As a member of the Coast Guard Art Program, Frank's painting “Turtle Release” a 16” x 20” oil has just been accepted into the permanent collection of the United States Coast Guard. This painting will be on exhibition in July at the Salmagundi Club, New York City and later on in the Coos Bay Art Museum, Coos Bay, Oregon.

About this painting: (left) Coast Guard Fireman and, a research biologist with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association, prepare to release an endangered sea turtle into warmer water offshore Jan. 14, 2010. Crew members from Coast Guard Station Panama City, Fla. began transporting the sea turtles, Jan. 12, 2010 from Gulf World after approximately 1,500 of them became displaced due to cold Gulf Coast Marine Park temperatures.

Joe MacKechnie

Joe was recently selected as one of the contributing artists to this year’s Strokes of Genius 4: Exploring Line which will be released by the end of 2011. For this issue, 112 artists were chosen. The North Light judges and series editor Rachel Wolf selected the winning images from a record number of more than 1650 entries.

These four members showing in the EAFA 36th Annual Open Juried Exhibition. The show is being held at the EAFA Gallery in the Seattle Design Center and runs from November 8, 2011 through January 6, 2012, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm. Steve W., Gary L. and Steve Hu received awards.


George Milliken

George Milliken’s painting “Back Alley in Opatia, Croatia”, has been juried into the Northwest Watercolor Society’s Waterworks 2011 Show currently at their gallery at the Seattle Design Center.
