John Amendola John is a graduate of the Academy of Aeronautics, the Pratt Institute and the Art Center College of Design. John’s work has appeared in national print since November 1953 in the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum, Time-Life Books, General Motors, Ford, Chrysler, Rolls Royce, Porsche, Playboy Magazine, Automobile Quarterly, Sports Car Illustrated, Grumman Aircraft, Boeing, Martin, Republic Aircraft Corporations, Zeizz-Ikon, Agfa, Century Boats, Reinell, and Uniflite Boats.
Retired in 1994 following a 44-year career in advertising and editorial illustration. Amundsen is now devoted full time to Western and wildlife painting.
Frank Bigford became a member of PSGNWP in 1976. He has been painting for 35 years and recently been working with pastels. Awards include: 1st Place Seattle Boat Show; 1st Place Tacoma Boat Show; Several purchase awards from Edmonds Arts Festival including Best of Edmonds Scene. Frank enjoys teaching beginners on an adult level and has studied with several prominent artists. His landscape paintings show his great love of the outdoors.
Born in Florida in 1946, he has lived on or near the ocean his entire life. He became an accomplished sailor and painter at an early age and today specializes in historical maritime art of the Pacific. His work is part of the permanent collection at the Newport Maritime Museum. He actively exhibits with the American Society of Marine Artists and has been selected to participate in numerous international events such as the International Exhibition at Mystic Seaport. Bob works from his studio on Raft Island near Gig Harbor.

Born in Bakersfield, CA. in 1943 Castle is a graduate of Duke University . He practiced law until retirement in 1993. He now paints full time in oils, watercolors, pastel and acrylic. Truman studied with Jerry Stitt in watercolor and studied in oil with Ron Lukas. He paints landscapes on location throughout the Western United States.
Irwin
Caplan 1919 - 2007 A life member of the Puget Sound Group of Northwest Painters and member of the National Cartoonists Society, he created "Famous Last Words” for the Saturday Evening Post. His work is in the permanent collection of the Seattle Art Museum and the University of Washington's Henry Gallery. He has exhibited at the Metropolitan Art Museum, The National Gallery in Washington D.C., "Watercolor USA" and a number of major regional shows. Caplan taught at Seattle Center Community College and the University of Washington School of Art.

Feb 2007- Irwin Samuel CAPLAN Born May 24, 1919, son of Samuel and Manya Caplan.
He passed away peacefully on February 22, 2007. Irwin is survived by his wife,
Madeline; his children, Robert and Debbie Caplan, Steven Caplan and Cathy Feole,
Joan and Al Clarke, and daughter-in-law, Deborah Greenberg; grandchildren, Emily
and Brendan Reed, Amanda Caplan, Jeremy Caplan, and Jennifer and Taylor Clarke.
Irwin graduated from
Robert was born in Tenino, Washington in 1930. After graduating school there, he had a brief career working as an apprentice sign painter before entering the Army in 1951. Following his discharge in 1953 he enrolled in an Advertising Art class at Edison Technical School under the instruction of Paul Emmel and later was hired by Cello Bag Company as a package designer and later as an Art Director for McCarty Co. working with Clark Wiley. During that period, he was a member of the Seattle Art Director's Society. Eventually he opened his own free-lance studio in Olympia, WA. Throughout his career, he has always been fascinated with the elusive medium of watercolor. He is currently a member of the Olympia Art League, the Peninsula Art Association and is Vice President of the Mason County Historical Society. His watercolors have been exhibited at the Frye Art Museum in Seattle, the Seattle Center. And his work has been a featured in one man shows at The State Historical Museum in Tacoma and Olympia, Whitman College, the Oregon State College and the Desert Gallery in Yuma, Arizona. He also teaches art classes from his studio.
See More Paintings by Jess Cauthorn A studio artist and freelance illustrator since1945, Jess is the former owner and director of the Burnley School of Professional Art in Seattle. He was President of the Art Institute of Seattle in 1982. Examples of selected awards and corporate purchases are the Northwest Annual, Seattle Art Museum; Northwest Watercolor Society Exhibitions; Marine Art Show, Museum of History and Industry; Craftsman Press Calendar Competitions; Puget Sound Bank; U.S. Bank, Beresford, Booth, Baronsky Attorneys, Alaska Airlines, Jube Art and Frame in Kent and Martin-Zambito. Cauthorn has produced Air Combat Commissions for the Department of the Navy and has work in the permanent collections of the Seattle Art Museum and the Frye Art Museum.
A Washington native, Coberly was mentored by Dean Williams at the School of Visual Concepts in Seattle. In his ongoing quest to develop his art career, he traveled to Europe where he lived in London while furthering his studies. He hopes to return to Europe and spend time studying in the city of Prague. His work is regularly exhibited in the Seattle area where it is receiving much acclaim.
Jim Coffin has produced animated and live action films and television commercials for past 30 years. He has created political cartoon strips for the Times, teaches art and animation, designs presentations and multimedia shows for corporate clients and lectures on Eastern Philosophy. He is currently working on his second book. Coffin was educated at the Art Center School, Los Angeles, Georgetown Art School in Washington D.C., Maryland University, and Abbott Art School. His watercolors have been the focus of shows at the Golden Gallery in Snohomish, 1990 through 1994 the Artists Central Gallery in Renton, 1994; and the Chase Gallery of Bellevue in 1989.
Jim is a recognized Northwest artist with a BA and MA from the University of Washington. He is an art instructor for Seattle public schools; extension instructor Western Washington College, past president of PSGNWP and part time instructor Seattle Community College.
Norm has exhibited Western and Northwest theme paintings throughout the West. Has participated in major Western Art Shows in Great Falls, Spokane, and Ellensburg.
Bill Cumming has painted professionally since 1938, and his work is represented by the Woodside Braseth Gallery. One of the most highly regarded artists in the Northwest he is well known nationally and internationally.
