Join us in welcoming new Signature Member Che Lopez to the Puget Sound Group!
I am an artist at heart, I love to splash color on paper, either with watercolor or well with any other sort of pigment. My first memory is of me drawing, being an artist has always been my dream. I don’t draw because I have too. I NEED to, it brings happiness to my soul. My work is expressive, loose and some say modern. I love to paints with color in mind and love the art of portraiture and figurative work. The majority of my work is inspired by my Mexican-American heritage, from the bold color to the imagery.
I am a Signature Member of the Northwest Watercolor Society ( NWWS ) and an associate member of the American Watercolor Society . I had my work juried into the NWWS 72nd and 73rd International Open Exhibition in 2012 - 13. I have also co-chaired the NWWS Waterworks 2013 and NWWS 74th International Open Exhibition 2014.
I am graduate of Cornish College of the Arts. And have worked as a traditional cell animator, web designer and commission artist for 20+ years. I am also a USA Boxing Coach and have trained both pro and amateur Boxing, Muay Thai and MMA fighters from the Northwest since 2004. I finally closed the doors of my gymTeam Eastside FC in Redmond in 2013 after 10 years in order to paint full time.
I have also been teaching Watercolor 101 and Teen Drawing and Painting at the Kirkland Arts Center since 2009. And have teaching a private portfolio group since 2012. I live in Everett, with his wife and my rambunctious little girl Milagros, who was born in 2010.
