PSG would like to share some exciting news from Austin Dwyer about his new book.
From Austin: The History Press publishing company in the UK is going to publish my new book, "Ships to Remember!"
The Coffee Table Book will have around 35 paintings and drawings of these great ships and their stories. The text will be written by Rorke Bryan, a well known writer from Canada and a long time friend. We were both brought up in Dublin, Ireland in the 1940's.
The finished art work for the book has to be completed by June of this year. The final copy will be published in June 2016 in commemoration of the voyage of the Caird. Along with 5 companions, Sir Ernest Shackleton made that treacherous voyage from Elephant Island in the South Shetland Islands to South Georgia- a distance of over 800 nautical miles. The Caird was only 23.5 feet long.
I have been working on this book for 3 years and finally see an end in sight. Given that books of this nature are usually self-published, it is rewarding to have History Press UK publish this book. Here are a few images, including the book cover.
