CLASS DESCRIPTION:

Do you enjoy oil painting? And would you like to have more knowledge of painting the sea? Then this workshop is what you’ve been looking for. This class is designed for a range of students who have a little experience painting in oils to those who are very experienced and want to learn how to paint the ocean, sky, shore and more.

This 2-day workshop will concentrate on shoreline, breaking waves, rocks and of course skies etc. Some may decide to pop in a ship, with which Austin will be more than happy to assist. Austin says, “Although I will give a demonstration, I do not intend to take up your time with me painting. I would like you to finish a wonderful seascape worthy of framing.”

We are so fortunate to have this stellar artist at Cole Gallery, and we are excited to present this opportunity to Cole Art Studio students. A little about the artist…

Born in County Tipperary in Ireland, Austin Dwyer is a signature member of the American Society of Marine Artists and co-founder of Pacific Rim Institute of Marine Art, and he has been an artist for decades. His art is shown and has been published internationally. He has taught at the Art Institute of Seattle (when it was known as Burnley School for Professional Art), and after living, working and painting all over the world now resides nearby in Mukilteo-by-the-Sea.
